Dutch Lions Partnership

The Dutch Lions FC Academy is starting a partnership with Bellbrook Soccer Association. This week Stewart Phillips and Andy Klepacz of Bellbrook Soccer Association and Mike Mossel and Derek van der Sluijs of the Dutch Lions FC agreed on working together more closely.

The Dutch Lions FC will offer access for Bellbrook Soccer Association to their (and Holland partner FC Twente) expertise in youth development and training. Part of this will also be giving several coaching sessions from FC Twente and/or Head Coach Sonny Silooy (who played for AFC Ajax for 14 years) to all coaches from Bellbrook Soccer Association. Besides that players from Bellbrook Soccer Association will also get a substantial discount on both League games of the Dayton Dutch Lions FC and the Lion Camps in July and August.

Owner Mike Mossel is very pleased with the partnership: “It has always been our intention to give kids in the Dayton area a chance to develop as much as possible and/or even become a professional player. I believe if all clubs in the area combine their strengths and work together we can make Dayton soccer a leading in Ohio. Therefore we are always looking to partner with local clubs and share our knowledge. To start with Bellbrook Soccer, right in our backyard, is fantastic. Especially since from our first meetings, we noticed that Stewart Phillips, Ron Barklay and Andy Klepacz have the same vision on developing kids. We hope to build this relationship for many years.”

As part of the partnership, Bellbrook Soccer will identify talents in their program and if they feel they can develop more in the Dutch Lions FC Premier Academy, they will offer that opportunity to the player and the parents.

We believe this will benefit all of our players and coaches, from the recreational and youth development programs in Bellbrook Soccer to our select soccer youth development, Real Bellbrook program. It is a fantastic opportunity for the Bellbrook Soccer community to work with one of the best player development programs with not only the Dutch Lions but their partner FC Twente as well.”
